Space business trip:
Now that 3.0 has gone live we should try to do a few multiplayer sessions (even if the FPS is still naff ).

3.1 is now live.
The main universe mode still has very poor FPS, although the space combat is improved in arena commander.

Re: Star Citizen / Squadron 42
Star Citizen 3.2 is out, now the FPS seems more consistent, as in most of my plays so far I've had 25 - 30 FPS for the duration, other than one server with low FPS that was probably bugged (seeing as shop items didn't appear, etc).
Other than that they've added mining (if you have a mining ship), and a few other ships, plus made it so joystick numbering is based on the hardware ID rather than the windows ID, so it should remember your joysticks and allow more than four at a time.
They've also made it so you can log out in the bed on your ship and it should load you in at the same place next time (rather than having to spawn at Port Olisar all the time), although I'm yet to test that.
As far as bad news goes, the combat is a bit naff again as the ESP (the thing that makes your gun pipper 'sticky' when over the enemy) is bugged and forces your pipper away from the target (although you can turn it off if you're Luke Skywalker), and also trading rewards are a bit low - so it takes a lot of trips to get any money.
But it should at least be playable enough for us to do some MP in it now.

They've also added the Anvil Hurricane, although I don't see the resemblance myself...
Better as the Anvil (Boulton-Paul) Defiant, surely.

I thought things had been a but quiet on the space front. About time they updated! Good news about the performance improvements.

A dev video about the reworked Mustang which might be of interest seeing as at least one of you has a Mustang.
(Mustang bit starts at 14:18)
They're also reworking the 300 series, so you don't feel left out Speedy.

Nice! looks more roomy more like a 7(000) series BMW spaceship rather than the 3(000) series

Re: Star Citizen / Squadron 42
Really nice rework on the Mustang and its variants. The military version almost looks like it's begging for a 2nd seat in tandem! Perhaps a crewmember who could operate guided payloads?
I am thinking of switching over, but I still don't know to which variant yet.

I find it interesting that the two people that only have Mustangs in DCS are also the two people that only have Mustangs in Star Citizen.

Re: Star Citizen / Squadron 42
3.3 PTU is open to everyone now apparently, it's worth checking out as you get to use loads of the ships, like the Hammerhead Corvette, Starfarer, the Constellations, full Mustang Line, most of the fighters/bombers, the space bikes and ground vehicles, etc - plus you get lots of money so you can buy all the guns and armour etc to check out.
Here's the guide if you want to have a go (the download is about 11 GB if you copy the data.p4k):
Plus when it goes live you can just copy the data.p4k back into the live folder and the update should be smaller (as you had the test version).
Here's the guide if you want to have a go (the download is about 11 GB if you copy the data.p4k):
If you don't already have the PTU Launcher installed, you may download it here: https://install.robertsspaceindustries.com/star-citizen/RSI-Setup-1.0.1-ptu.4.exe
PTU is open for Subscribers, Concierge and CitizenCon ticket holders at the moment and CIG hopes to bring it to a wider test group as soon as possible. Check your Account Settings for PTU access.
Once you have PTU access, first Erase account from PTU and only then Copy account to PTU, this will ensure you get the email with your new PTU password. Do not attempt this multiple times if you don't receive an email instantly, just be patient.
Instead of having to download the entire PTU build, you can either copy or rename your 3.2 build folder and update from that.To do so, navigate to your install directory, e.g. C:/ProgramFiles/Roberts Space Industries/, and either rename the StarCitizen folder to StarCitizenPTU, or create the new StarCitizenPTU folder, with a LIVE folder in that, and copy only the Data.p4k file into your new StarCitizenPTU/LIVE/ folder.
Start the PTU Launcher and go to SETTINGS --> VERIFY
If your PTU Launcher version does not display the correct version after updating or you are having issues with the launcher, you need to RESET LAUNCHER CONFIGURATION, by using the hot keys CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + R while in the PTU Launcher, then clicking OK.
Plus when it goes live you can just copy the data.p4k back into the live folder and the update should be smaller (as you had the test version).

Re: Star Citizen / Squadron 42
3.3 is now live.
3.3.5 (the one that adds the new planet and moons) is now on Evocati, so should go to PTU soon.
They've also added a telemetry page, which should show performance information and see how you compare to others:
CIG - Public Telemetry
Bad news is that some features from 3.4 have been moved to 3.5, such as ArcCorp, the new flight model and the female characters (told you, Razy ).
