Modern DCS SoW Mission

Post  MJDixon on Tue May 22, 2018 11:14 pm

Philstyle is planning on running a DCS Cold War mission on a Friday or Sunday, not that anyone else is interested in anything beyond 1945, but just on the off chance. Laughing

I'm putting the final touches on a mission that I'd like to run as a co-op sometime soon.

I would like to know if we can put together 12 or more players accross the various types and roles listed below.
If you / your squad is keen, PLEASE REPLY IN THIS THREAD.
The mission will most likely be hosted on a Sunday or Friday evening, at around 8pm UK time.

A full briefing with target photos and assets locations will be posted once I know if there is enough interest.
I would also happily include an air-controller role into the mix if someone wanted to co-ordinate from the ground, over TS.

The premise is a fictional NATO v Warsaw Pact conflict in the Caucasus in the late 1980s, just prior to the collapse of the Pact.

At the moment I have the following human-player assets and tasks:
1. 4x land-based Harrier slots for SEAD and Ground attack
2. 6x AJS Viggen slots for Ground attack and Maritime strike
3. 4x UH1H helicopter slots operating from a forward FARP for hunting soft troop columns in the mountains
4. 4x F15 (2xC and 2xE) slots for fighter support
5. 4x A-10A slots for ground attack
6. 2x F5 for fighter support

The mission is quite complex with a number of primary targets which will require co-operation between the flying assets.Planning beforehand will be required, so flight/ squadron leaders should take some time to famil with the briefing.

Ben and I flew a "tester" to one of the targtes over the weekend, to see how it worked in principle. This target has now been strengthened. But here is the video of that flight:

I'll probably have a go in the Harrier depending on what day it is.
