looking for a squadron
Hello
I've recently started playing WW2OL again after I took a trial back in 2008. I can't really remember why but after my trial I never activated a proper subscription, which is weird because even back then I loved the game.
I have close to zero flight experience in WW2OL, I do have flight sim experience though. LOMAC:FC, DCS, FSX, Falcon 4 etc.
I have flown in the past with a squadron in LOMAC:FC for quite a long time. I was part of a bomber wing but I want to get more into A2A combat.
I'm 22 live in South wales and have TS3/headset etc.
My in-game name is Neo08 (anyone know if I can change this btw?)
Cheers
LR

Re: looking for a squadron
hello there lr18!
I hope 19 Squadron RAF is what you are looking for. We fly combat sweeps, BARCAP and CAP missions alongside our bomber mission profiles.
Our main ride (as you may have guessed!) is the Spitfire, and we can get you up to speed pretty quick on the old girls handling and how to get the most out of her!
We use Section tactics exclusively, so you will always fly with a wingman and we always aim to RTB (Return To Base) our sorties.
Once you have got your game name sorted out, we can recruit you to the squad and you can have access to our private forums and read all about our tactics and stuff like that.
To change your gamename, go to http://www.battlegroundeurope.com/ and click on accounts, choose Account Management. Log in using your username and password, then click on Subscription. scroll down, under 'What would you like to do' you should see 'Change my gamename'
pop a new name in, click Check Availability and then click Change Gamename.
You used to have to pay for this, not sure if that is still the case.
so let us know your new gamename, and when you are likely to be on, and someone will get in touch with you and invite you into the squad!
S!, and welcome to 19 RAF!

Re: looking for a squadron
Thanks for the info mate.
I'm very sure there is going to a massive difference in engaging a contact way beyond visual range and watching radar systems to counter any counter missiles to exclusive dogfighting, I'm looking forward to it!
I've changed my game name to LR18 (thanks for the help) Back when I made the account I was known as Neo but these days I go by LR18 (named after my daughter )
I am about to login now and do a bit of practice on the 'test' server if that is any good for you guys??
Cheers

Re: looking for a squadron
ok! some of the guys do bombing on a thursday, so you might be able to find some of them on there. I'm not on atm unfortunately, but will try and get on friday and give you a hand.
I've played falcon 4 (open falcon) and mj has some experience in Freefalcon, and it is a whole different kettle of fish!
Squad nights are Tuesdays and Sundays from about 8pm UK time till about midnight - people come and go, its a reasonably relaxed sort of thing although when we are in the air we do take it seriously!
I've given you access to the rest of the forum, so you can have a look at what we do and how we do it. any questions, please feel free to post in any forum you like and someone will come along and give you an answer.
hope to catch up with you tomorrow, if not then sunday.
