Red 1 ( sqdrn ldr Dixon ) and Red 2 ( myself ) lifted from home base and headed towards dungeness area were inbounds raids were expected. 1 raid was discovered and we proved high cover while 56th sqdr engaged the bombers. Contact was lost but shortly after we found a lone ju88 heading towards the south. I made several passes on the junkers and saw it going in a steep dive smoking from 1 engine and with a fire on its rights wing. presuming it was going down we disengaged. we were request to provide high cover for some blenheims that were on the way to bomb targets in France. We found 2 109's and engaged with red 1 shooting down one of them. Firing a deflection shot into the other 109 but only caused minor damage.
After rearming and refueling we were joind by red 3 ( speedy ) and made a high altitude patrol. After a while speedy was bingo fuel and we proceeded the patrol without red 3. Several more small engagements followed near gravesend and another 109 was destroyed by red1 and another one damaged by myself.

Short on fuel we vectored to home base and landed safe without damage.
