If anyone is interested in post WWII aircraft, and how we managed to throw away our position as world leader in jet aircraft then this is an interesting vid.

Nice find Speedy.
Pretty much same story as the Canadian CF-105 Arrow.

Hi Zenior! welcome back old chap. I saw you briefly in game last night.

Yes indeed a very similar story to the Arrow. Great shame. I read a good book about this era (albeit from the british point of view!) called 'Empire of the Clouds'. Well worth a read if you're interested.

I think our little forum is being watched by Big Brother....or the BBC anyway, as there is a program on BBC 2 tonight at 9pm called 'Cold War - Hot jets'. Which seems to be about the above.

Not sure if our friends outside the UK can get it on the internet. scratch

Watched the first part yesterday, was alright, though it seemed a bit biased at times (like huzzah we've invented our super new Gloster Meteor Jet Fighter, those 109s and 190 are no match for us, failing to even mention the pesky Me 262. Razz )

Didn't know that the MiG 15 engine was essentially just a Rolls-Royce Nene - I blame Labour. Laughing
