Royal Flying Corps Directive: Anti-Aircraft Artillery
All France based front line Squadrons.
Urgent care must be taken when transiting the enemy's front sectors with regards to anti-aircraft artillery.
There have been an increasing number of losses within France based front line Squadrons as a result of accurate and deadly anti-aircraft artillery barrage at low to medium altitudes, resulting in catastrophic losses of aircraft and crewmen.
Flight leaders should avoid crossing the enemy front sectors at altitudes below 5000 feet, with altitudes above this offering increasing safety - in the event of coming under anti-aircraft artillery barrage, flight leaders should begin sporadic adjustments to their heading and/or altitude, in order to counter the threat of course prediction and advanced barrage.
