Finished SE5a Skins
S!
Here are the finished SE5a skins for submission to the official fictional skin pack!
If you want anything to be changed on your aircraft then now is the time to say - because after I submit them that's you screwed.
None for Dezey as he doesn't have the game - will have to submit his later if he wants one!
MJ:
Skipper:
Speedy:
Conflict (Hinkel):
After these are submitted I'm going to work on the proper 19 Squadron Aircraft, the SPAD VII and the Sopwith Dolphin!
Also I need to know your Rise of Flight official forum names!
Also I need to confirm that Speedy's name is actually Speedy because I wrote Speedy on your crate.

Re: Finished SE5a Skins
I say, they look spiffing MJ!
So if they were accepted in the skins pack in game, and some other person downloaded that pack, they'd see us in all our glory in multiplayer?
I haven't got a Spad VII btw.
oh, my forum name is Skipper19 I think.

Indeed Skip! At least I think so.

I'll make one anyway - for the SPAD VIIs I think I'll just make them simple one logo skins (rather than the fancy late war ones) as 1916 was a much simpler time.

Re: Finished SE5a Skins
Seems some of the layers dont work properly with my image editing software, so the current skins probably wouldn't get accepted (as they don't have the right reflections etc) so I'll probably have to get Photoshop and do it properly (I think it's to do with converting them to .DDS files)
Will download the free trial and hope I can do it with that.

Well, here they are all formated properly in Photoshop with Alpha layers and the like, which seemingly means shiny, but dark.
Spot the difference!

Taa.
Though making RoF skins is actually easier than you might think!
Most of the stuff that makes it look all fancy and weathered and shiny and the like is already part of the skin template that you download from the RoF website, for example here is my finished skin:
Which, granted - looks pretty snazzy.
But if I then turn off the layers for panel lines, details, weathering, shadows and levels (which are already made in the template skin, and which I didn't edit at all) the skin looks like this:
Which looks pretty Microsoft Paint!
If you wanted to be really fancy you could edit the alpha layers to make certain objects like the lettering or the roundels react differently to sunlight etc, to show the different paint composition or whatever - but that's too fancy for me!
