Re: Dunkirk (2017)
May I add here a 5-minute-long, single-take, tracking shot scene from the 10-year-old film "Atonement". It's not a war film, it's a period drama set in pre-war and wartime Britain, (as well as tying into the modern day). The gritty, worn-down look on practically everyone and everything in this scene amazes me to this day. They transformed Redcar, Yorkshire into wartorn Dunkirk, there must be dozens of thousands of extras in there, and there's so much happening in any given moment in the shot, and to top it off there's the soundtrack that blends in with the choir.
It's the exact opposite of clean lines and orderly troops as depicted in the "Dunkirk" trailer. Then again Nolan is known for his visually clean and minimalist style. I hope there's more to the film than the trailer lets off.

Re: Dunkirk (2017)
About time I got some new Spitfire based music, I can only make videos using the Battle of Britain soundtrack so many times.

I like it, it reminds me of his work in the Batman trilogy.

I like it as it implies there's going to be 8 minutes and 3 seconds of Spitfires doing stuff.

Re: Dunkirk (2017)
Dunkirk: A World Wars Story (the World Wars Episode IV: Battle of Britain Prequel) is the best Battle of Britain film that isn't about the Battle of Britain.
I'm very protective of the Battle of Britain film and wary of the idea of a remake, but a 2 hour long Battle of Britain film with aerial sequences like those in Dunkirk would make me a very happy chap!
I'd even take a 2 hour long film just of Tom Hardy flying around in a Spitfire, like a WW2 version of Locke.

Re: Dunkirk (2017)
Then when everyone has watched it I can write a really long nerdy post about all the stuff in it that wasn't realistic enough.

Re: Dunkirk (2017)
You can tell her what Nolan said to pitch his idea to Hollywood producers (who normally don't fund war films that don't include the US) : it's a really intense VR experience without the VR headset.

Re: Dunkirk (2017)
Probably for the best, if I wanted a really intense VR experience with a VR headset (and Spitfires) I'd play DCS or buy Battle of Kuban.
