RIP Star Wars Galaxies!
(Bit of a random one.)
The MMO I played before WW2OL was Star Wars Galaxies, and infact I've continued to play it up until now, having played it since the European release back in November 2003 (so suffice to say I've played it for quite a while!)
Anyway, those evil corporate bastards at LucasArts are killing it to give space for the new MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic (even though the two games are completely different) which means that Star Wars Galaxies will shut down forever in 4 hours time, so suffice to say I'm rather sad about that!
I admit SWG is not the game it once was, but it was a unique game and I fear it'll be a very long time before we see its like again.
So I salute the idea of Star Wars Galaxies! And shall commemorate its passing with a special Imperial Royal Guard TIE Interceptor signature for the weekend! (Which was my chosen ride in SWG)
Granted it doesn't look quite as good as a Spitfire as far as profile shots go - but it did climb faster than a Spit IX and could out run both a 109G-6 and a FW190!
(Insert random Pilot based SWG screenshots):
(I'm the Mayor of the Town in the foreground of the last screenshot - called Mos Luna, one of the oldest towns on the Server! Of course when I say Mayor I mean Megalomaniac Dictator, obviously.)

I have played this game for quite some time but had to have a break due to moving away from the parents place en new location had bad internet and could not play it. when i finaly came back the servers lost most off the people and were mostly deserted.
Still magnificant game.
I remember cantinas full of people chatting dancing ect ... player owend towns your own house off course wich you could decorate at will. space combat and land combat ( the new swtor has somewhat an arcadish space battle system wich just looks stupid )
stormtroopers, visits from darth vader ( i allways stood behind him making rude movements ), not entire world crowed by jedi, and so on
alltough I did not play it anymore for several years it still gives me a sad feeling that they shut it down for a new game wich looks like wow in a star wars setting
