Fragged my computer, sigh
So I decided to try the newest NVIDIA drivers for my computer this morning, after reading up on improving the FPS (in the WW2OL forums).
Unfortunately, selecting 'clean install' was a mistake, as it erased my old drivers (apparently) and the new ones do not work - at all. When I try to start my computer I get to the point where Win7 should start up and I get 'Input Not Supported' bouncing around my screen in a little box.
I tried restarting in Safe Mode, Safe Mode w/networking, Safe Mode w/Command Prompt...same exact result. Put my Win7 Install disc in the CD drive, picked 'boot from CD' from the F12 Boot menu. On restart I was offered only one option Install Windows 7 (instead of several, like 'repair disc'). I don't want to vaporize my hard drive again so I declined the option, and at this point I'm stumped.
When I get home today, unless I figure out something else, I'm going to reboot from the Install disc and select 'Install Windows 7' after all. Which, I'm assuming, will reformat my drive like it did last time.

That doesn't sound good.
If you're sure the win7 CD can't repair the installation, then there is one thing you could try before wiping your harddrive and losing everything. This is presuming you have access to another PC? (The fact that you've posted would suggest so, or you did so from a smart phone or some such, in which case read no further.
Now I should point out that I'm not an expert in all things technical, but I used to have to do this a lot when win XP used to go belly up:
1. Create a live CD version of Ubuntu "for the benefit of the uneducated amongst us" Ubuntu is an open source linux operating system which people who hate Microsoft swear by.
2. Run the live CD to 'try out' ubuntu and you should be able to access your windows partition and get access to your files.
3. You can then backup your important files to an external harddrive.
4. Now you can wipe your hardrive with a fresh install of win7.
You may even be tempted to stick with unbuntu, and intstall that instead. However, that will open a whole new world of pain trying to get applications, especially games to work at all, so don't bother.
Good luck old chap

I'm pretty sure Win 7 can install over an old install without formatting the drive - there is an option somewhere. Although that *may* only be for upgrading over Win XP, but you can try the 'Upgrade' option when you install. may save you your HD.

My wife says to me "OK, it's monday morning, and you decide to tinker with your computer? Were you asleep, or just stupid? Nobody tries to do complicated things on Monday, dear. That's why it's a monday."
When I get home I'm going to try the install disc again, and accept whatever default it offers. According to the company IT tech, my HD should be OK since I'm not actually upgrading over an old OS (like before). If it works, I'm going to put the freakin drivers back to the ones I had, instead of the beta ones. And never again, on Monday mornings, will I tinker with the OS.

It vaporized my hard drive, of course, despite my precautions.
Fortunately, I have a habit of emailing myself all my passwords and account info (brain damage, etc), and I also have most of my documents backed up on the Seagate drive, which I did NOT leave attached this time whilst installing.
At this point, I am reinstalling WW2OL, my Saitek software, TS3, etc, now that I have replaced most of my bookmarks in Firefox.
(BTW I gave serious thought to the Ubuntu plan, but decided not to complicate my life any further. I have enough trouble with Windows and rudder pedals.)
