so, apparantly when a motherboard website says 'this motherboard supports AM2+ socket processors' what they actually mean is 'this motherboard supports AM2+ socket processors as long as it says V2.0 scratched in tiny letter on the motherboard, not V1.0 which only supports a handful of AM2+ processors, however the one that you have bought is not on this list'

still, got 4Gb of memory now.

anyone want to by a dual core 3000Mhz AMD II X2 250 processor? Only installed once?

Nothing is ever easy is it?

Could you flash the motherboard to upgrade the bios? Never done it myself but I've read that it's often a way of getting a newer processor to work with an 'older' motherboard.
