Back in the day...

Post  MJDixon on Thu Apr 01, 2010 10:03 am

Y'know there's a reason why I prefer Tier 0, turn fighting and BB guns - while nearly everyone else I come across prefers cannons and the like, you see back in the day we used to have fisty-cuffs with the Hun with only a single Vickers gun, back when we were the RNAS and the RFC - not like you new age RAF types! humbug!

If only there were a WW1 Online, not much fun for the Infantry I suppose - but the Navy and Air Force would have fun. Razz

MJ, you ever play Dawn of Aces? Comes as part of Warbirds, free download and then you pay to play.

Hardly anyone plays the Dawn of Aces arena, just one or two hard core WWI simmers, who really kick everyones asses!

but yes, a WWI online air sim would be interesting, but not financially sustainable I reckon. Maybe the naval combat might draw some in...

Some other guys were talking about this new WWI one, but I forget the name now...

oh, good shooting btw!

Aye Speedy, i's OFF, or to give it it's full name:

Over Flanders Fields Phase 3: Between Heaven and Hell - Expansion 1: Hat in the Ring. Razz

It's a very good game, especially so considering that it's basicly a modification of Combat Flight Simulator 3, which itself was a rubbish game. Rolling Eyes

Can't say I've heard of Dawn of Aces though Dojo, heard of Warbirds though at least. As for that new WW1 game, it could have been "Rise of Flight", which is a WW1 Flight Simulator - just make sure you don't mention it anywhere near the OFF forums, as it's like the anti-christ (they mainly see it as a cheap knock off game with crap copy protection and very small aircraft selection (aparantly you have to pay for extra aircraft) and highly buggy, but I wouldn't realy know.)

All I know is OFF has a Dynamic Campaign from 1915 to 1918 (As dynamic as WW1 gets anyway) - with crap loads of aircraft, and Rise of Flight don't. Razz
