Are you coordinating your turns?
By which I mean using the rudder during turns in order to keep the ball in the turn and slip indicator centred, as per this video:
As not doing so results in additional drag and instability, which might go to explaining some of the issues we've been having with the Mustang during turns (other than that it's not a Spitfire ).
