Red Tails Film
Finally got round to watching this the other night....what a pile of excrement. Even mrs Speedy thought so!
The fantatsical flying, gunnery and strangely explosive .50cals aside, I cannot believe how they used the typical german 'evil' pilot stereotypes. It was like something from a war propaganda film.
I must find out more about the real events this film was 'inspired' by.

Indeed it is, Mr Speedy - most naff indeed - the helmets are good though...
If Red Tails is George Lucas' idea of what air combat in WW2 was like, then does that mean Star Wars is an equally inaccurate depiction of starfighter combat in a galaxy far far away?
The whole trench scene is BS, the Death Star was actually just a small defence satellite, the exhaust port was at least 15m wide and everyone knows that X-Wings didn't carry Proton Torpedos until 1 ABY!
I read on the WW2OL forum that them what made Band of Brothers and The Pacific are making a new series about the US 8th Air Force, so hopefully that should make up for Red Tails, until then you're better off watching The Tuskegee Airmen:
