Having flown a number of sorties against enemy raiders along the English coast under the command of Squadron Leader Skip, 'B' Flight, consisting of Dixon, Speedy and Hinkel headed south east in order to engage the enemy Aircraft before they crossed the French coast.

Soon after crossing the channel near Calais at aproximately 18,000 feet, the flight engaged a pair of enemy aircraft, consisting of one Focke-Wulf 190 and one Messerschmitt Bf109 some 500 - 1000 feet below, Speedy and Hinkel engaging the 109, whilst I gave chase to the 190, which was fleeing westwards, before breaking under my attack and heading back eastwards towards the other battle.

Upon rejoining the main battle I spotted another contact entering from the east at the same altitude, this turned out to be another 109 - I then spotted another aircraft to the north east some 2000 feet higher, which was also a 109s, leaving a tally of four enemy aircraft against our three.

Turning to engage I flew towards the highest of the newly spotted 109s - climbing up under his belly, but did not have enough energy to get into gun range - I then attempted to drag the 109 to the south, but the hun refused to follow, as such I turned my attention to the other three enemy aircraft in an effort to support my wingmen, which were engaging the german fighters just below me.

After a short and relatively bloodless engagement the enemy fighters then dove out, with at least one Bf109 seen streaming heavy white smoke, with no damage to our own aircraft.

We then reformed and headed south towards Le Touquet, spotting a single enemy Bf109 crossing the coast just north of the town, as such myself and Hinkel turned to engage - with Hinkel destroying the Hun with a burst to the rear, resulting in the enemy aircraft exploding in flames.

We then returned to base, with a total tally for the evening in the ranges of 6 - 7 enemy aircraft destroyed.
