Rof is off the gaming menu for now as my pc wont play it. Im down to 12 fps when under 1 thousand feet even with everything turned to the lowest settings. No wonder my eyes hurt !

Can you post your PC specs please so I have an idea of what I need to upgrade to ?

win 7
4Gb DDR2 RAM
Dual Core AMD Athlon XP 250 processor (3000 MHz)

nVidia 8800 GTS

Struggles to run on very high settings, I've had to turn off all the HDR Post Processing stuff, and it gets hot quick but I'm ok on frames.

Maybe your graphics card isnt up to it?

Bad luck Dezey. My spec for your info is as follows:

phenom II x4 960T 3.0ghz (If I new how I would over clock this)
Powercolor 6870 1GB
8GB DDR2 RAM
onboard sound
600W PSU
Win7 64bit

I upgraded to this spec back in Jan - Feb to max out my existing motherboard. I think it cost me 250-300 bucks.

I also have to turn down the HDR post processing. The setting I have on use around 40-45% of the video memory. I haven't has any issues with frames rates.

Bad luck, Dezey.

Here's the specs of my new PC:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit
ASUS®️ RAMPAGE III EXTREME: 3-Way SLI & CrossFireX, SATA 6.0GB/s, USB 3.0
Intel®️ Core™️i7 Processor Extreme Edition i7-990X (3.46GHz) 6.4GTs/12MB Cache
12GB KINGSTON HYPER-X TRI-DDR3 1600MHz, X.M.P (3 x 4GB KIT)
3GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 580 - 2 DVI, HDMI, DP

And here are my RoF settings:

Post your PC specs please Rofsettings

Reason I have post effects turned off is because they disable the in-game anti aliasing (aka make the game look crap), which means I have to force it on in the graphics card software, which makes the card overheat and start throwing artifacts at me (what would the British Museum say!)

Also note, although the 'Sharp Picture' setting isn't greyed out on the post effects area, it does require post effects to be active in order to run, and it seems quite snazzy, it just results in the same no AA crappy picture thing. Razz

Interesting stuff thanks all. I didnt know you could get a 3Gb video card, what a nutter bastard. My specs r v similar to Skips which is a bit odd.

Win XP
4GB Ram
Intel core duo 8500 @ 3.16Mhz
8800Gts vidoe card

I know Win XP can only use 3 and bit Gb of ram but it still doesnt explain the difference in performance. Unless the AMD is a beast.

mmmmm ....

btw Speedy what r u doing buying stuff off the Yanks ???

Also Skip, how old is your processor ? Maybe its a newer geration ?

There was an issue a while back about the game not running very well on dual core processors, I had that too on my old PC, but it was fixed I think, yours is all patched up I presume?

Other than that maybe it's because you have XP rather than Windows 7, you'd have to check the forums I guess.

Athlon X250 (Black edition) ~2007 according to wiki.

Its probably Win 7 giving the performance boost.

Searching the forums it seems XP works better with dual core processors than Windows 7, go figure. Razz

You sure you have all the post effects off, and the quality settings on low?
