I thought Belgium was on our side?

Well, I nearly took the prize myself a few days back, but managed to duck under just in time.

But no! I'm sure it will happen many times after this, but it gives me great pleasure to announce that Hinkel has cemented his place in the annals of our glorious squadron, in that he is in fact the very first 19 Squadron Pilot to ever kill his own Wingman!

Bit of background info:

So there Hinkel and I are, flying along in our Sopwith Camels, when below appears a dastardly Fokker Dr.1 Triplane, and so begins my first ever proper Sopwith Camel online dogfight - and against a Fokker Dr.1 at that!

The start is a bit iffy, I lose sight of the Hun for a moment and hear rounds heading my way - but a few turns later and I'm getting the upper hand - palms are sweating against the joystick as I use all my concentration just trying to persuade the suicidal Camel not to spin me straight into a hole in the ground after every stick or rudder input - slowly I gain on the Hun - one quick glancing shot registered, a little more, another hit - closer, closer - a burst to his tail - almost there, I'm behind the Hun now, here it comes, I have you n...

But no! As if killing his own Wingman wasn't quite bad enough - he then carries on flying as if nothing had happened at all, and procedes to shoot down the Fokker Dr.1 himself!

Well Sir! It goes without saying that this insult cannot stand! Honour demands satisfaction!

Thankfully though, both Hinkel and myself are honourable gentleman flyers, and as such we have settled the matter in the expected fashion of honourable gentleman flyers.



Poor Willi, I mean Hinkel, I mean Conflict!

i was very ashamed of this happening. as we were in combat i lost visual on mj and i had a good shot on the dr1 when i suddenly feel a small vibration. it seemed my wheel collided with dixon his wing. i saw him go down with a very sad feeling. the tears allmost blinded me while i continued engaging the fokker. shooting him down did not make me feel any better. you lose people in fights but now i had lost my dearest friend and wingman. I will never be the same man again and this accident will hunt me for the rest of my life.

That is the funniest thing I've seen for a while! I like the fact that, to Hinkel, the dimise of MJ was a 'small vibration' lol.
