First online hop tonight!
Just a little mission, about 30 mins.
Took off in a Spad from Mouzon, as some jolly frenchie crashed his kite into a tree across my flight path.
Went north to get some alt before heading east over the trenches. God what a sight! What are they shelling down there? Who knows! Saw some ack over our side so headed back that way - one high contact over a couple of fat ones. They started firing flares off - the fat ones - and they were getting bigger, so I wasn't sure if they were friendly asking me who I was, or Bosche calling their mate down for support.
I got closer and closer to them, and they were heading south towards Reims. They split up, one staying high and the other going lower, so I climber up above the lower one and dove down on him. As he grew larger in my sights, I saw the black crosses. Jerry! Diving behind and slightly beneath him, I pulled up and squirted some rounds at long range into his belly. As I climbed, I saw tracer over my shoulder and sure enough the high chap (some white Bosche crate) was diving behind me. Luckily for me he must have been going too fast, as he carried on diving and ploughed straight into the ground.
He must have hit me, as my engine started coughing and spitting oil, so I left the bombers and returned to Mouzon for a nice landing. Statto told me I hadn't hit the bomber at all, which was a shame, so I'm going to bed!

Re: First online hop tonight!
thats why I did the practicing first
I haven't worked out how to kill these two seaters yet - I've tried high, slashing runs from the rear quarters, and I've tried staying low under their bellies and climbing up and shooting them from below.
Any tips?

Honestly Skipper, don't you watch any of my videos?
In the next patch ('soon') they're adding proper workings of the wing Lewis guns, meaning you can rotate them and (hopefully) fire them upwards into the bottom of two seaters - though I think it also means you have to reload it every 60 - 90 rounds or however long a drum magazine lasts on a Lewis gun.
Until then, I stay as far away from the rear gunner as possible, attack as quickly as possible, at random angles at the cockpit area, or pick a wing to try to take off - if you're lucky you might manage to kill the rear gunner, after which it's pretty simple, other than that just keep pecking away at it and making yourself as hard to hit as you can.
Also I think we're going to have to work on your aircraft recognition if you want any of your combat reports to be approved!
You attacked a bomber of some sort with black crosses, then got attacked by a white aeroplane, then went home.

Re: First online hop tonight!
i have been trying multy ways to down a bomber. usaly ending with oil or fire in my face.
Tried bouncing from side front or side back and that seemed to be one of the best tries I had. Allthough it is more difficult and have to do some deflection shots it was a run where I did not end up with holes in my plane.
